The Middle East Today.

When viewing all that is going on in the Middle East, and all that is being done by so many in this regard, it pays to adopt a dispassionate view and give thought to what is happening with reference to "As you sow, so shall you reap" or karma; to give thought to the fact that many are expiating negative karma whilst many are creating negative karma which they have to later face. On the other hand there are those who are creating positive karma by their thoughts and acts, and there are also those around the world, from Presidents to men in the street, who are doing one or the other. Hence, life is unfolding at two levels and it is wise to be aware of this.

Help

Ian, thank you. I was starting to think I was a bit alone in my viewing of the events. I additionally have been taking the view that this is what that part of the world is vibrating, and has for centuries. Like attempting to get in front on a train and shout, “halt! I want to use the track for my passage and desire.” I am feeling compassion and concern, but I am not allowing my vibration to accept negative dwellings.
I have given it over to Source, and that includes my son, who serves in the military.
It is all lessons? Just seems some of them take other souls a longer time than my current human mind can fathom.
Have a good day today my friend,
Di
Thank you Ian!
I'd like to add: Don't do what I used to do, and constantly check the news. It's almost impossible to find any good news, and what good does it do you or anybody else if you grow ulcers from checking the news?
If everybody would concentrate on what they can change for the better in their own lifes, boy what a beautiful world it would be. (See Joy Bringer's blog for a start)
I follow the three voices of truth ahead of me & desire my own openness to the greater picture… embracing all, holding all in understanding, as we are all babes just learning.
Ian, it pays to adopt a dispassionate view
Di, I am feeling compassion and concern, but I am not allowing my vibration to accept negative dwellings.
Joy, concentrate on what 'one' can change for the better in 'ones' own life.
Love & Peace to All,
peggy joyce
Di, The mind, mine anyway, cannot comprehend such time either, like it cannot comprehend space distance expressed in anything more than miles or kilometres.* There is something interesting about soldiering but I will enter it at the bottom of this comment.
WhoAmi, most of the time when watching the news the mute button is on and my eyes are averted - good exercise for the neck and forefinger!!
Yes, Peggy.
*Di, in the greater scheme of things time does not exist so, in that context, whether we comprehend or not is irrelevant. Gets complicated doesn't it?
Re. Soldiering.
Those who have read TMIW may remember something about this. Someone sought career advice from the Buddha and part of the advice was not to have anything to do with the manufacture of armaments. Interestingly, there was no mention of being a soldier but we must be careful not to be free with our view of this.
According to the Bhagavad - Gita Arjuna, the warrior, at a critical point in a battle tells Krishna [God] (in the part of his aide, if I remember correctly.) “I will not fight” because it involved killing friends and relatives. In a nutshell, Krishna's answer is to the effect that it is his duty, as a warrior, to fight.** This means that not to fight would be dereliction of duty.
The Edgar Cayce readings state that there are jobs that have to be done in our societies, and someone has to do them. The example was given of the hangman, and it was stated that, provided that the person did not take pleasure in what he did there would be no negative karma accrueing.
Let's face it, wars provide people with a vast number of opportunities for “good” deeds and thoughts but, with the passage of 'time', wars will cease. Meanwhile, I can no longer make the choice to bear arms but that is my choice. I feel for those who start wars and send soldiers to war because they have a hard task ahead of them.
*”Seeing” is different. I have no problem except that I cannot control this. It happens when it happens!!
**Refer to the segment about the battle of Kurukshetra in The Bhagavad - Gita for a full account.
Love to all, Ian.
Ian, two things.
Your new icon! We must be on a similar wavelength??
And about that time context, I went down the rabbit hole just yesterday afternoon. Blogged about it this morning. ;)
I would like to say this is quite the coincidence. But of course it isn't. :)
Hi Di,
The icon or emblem (what do we call it?) has to do with releasing the book. I have mentioned why in some blog or pod recently.
I am just about to go down the rabbit hole to read the blog.
Adieu!
Since I cannot edit my comments above:
With reference to my comment regarding Soldiering I want to clarify something. On the question of 'taking pleasure' it is positive to take pleasure in the work itself but negative to take pleasure in killing, causing pain et cetera.
Hi Ian.
My son serves in the United States Navy. I served in the Navy as well when in my 20's. He is an Air Traffic Controller, I was a weapons technician and worked on the MK 46 Mod 5 torpedo. My job in the Navy brought me into the Federal Aviation Administration as an Electronic Technician, then a Program Analyst, and now my current position in the Training and Certification programs.
I have served my country for over 20 years now. My son serves his country today, and he will get a job with the FAA when he gets out of the Navy. He is on the USS Truman, it will deport in the fall, and I am so very proud of him.
He most likely will never be in the danger as one who is a soldier. But I suppose these days who can tell what any of us face?
I am at peace with my choices and with his choices.
Much love my friend,
Di
hi
“As you sow, so shall you reap” ya thats true. But why the inocent children dies, they becomes the victims.I think those children neither “sow ” nor going to “reap”.
so they do not do any negetive or positve “Karma” but why they become victime.
can i get answer .
Due to karma sown in past lifes?
Or due to the fact that they have completed whatever they needed to do in this life?
We tend to think that it is horrible for the child that dies, but is that true?
Hi Biranjan and Wana,
Everything that happens to us is the result of karma in action but we do not see as 'bad' or 'unfair' the numerous 'good' things that happen to us/people. There is absolutely no injustice in karma as it is all our own doing and we must try to remember that the physical appearance of one may be that of a child but the “soul within” is ageless. There is more that I can say but it is not understood if related. One has to come to the understanding one's self.
It is necessary to read about karma until one fully understands it, Biranjan, because whilst the occasional question and the answer may help the questions are coming from ignorance. If you find it difficult to understand what I say because it is written in English can you find someone who will translate it with you one chapter at a time? You may also benefit but searching for what is said about different subjects and tackling each of those one at a time. In this case you could, perhaps with a translator, search for the word karma or check the Index.
Of course, if I could wave a magic wand I would get you here for a couple of weeks and read the book with you! Sadly, I am no magician, my friend!
“Due to karma sown in past lives?” Past or present.
“Or due to the fact that they have completed whatever they needed to do in this life?” Usually completion of what has to be done in a life in regard to karma results in departure from the life (death as it is called) but sometimes the life continues because there is something else to be done, like a 'mission'.
Clarification? Please ask.

Biranjan and Wana, with reference to my comment immediately above here is a link to a blog that sheds further light on the subject.
