Non-attachment is that state of being where one is detached from something but where, at will, one can connect with it, assess one’s human feelings et cetera toward it, and then disconnect with it.

Hi Ian…I have been away…I know that dialog is still open with us…I have started to now look here for more thoughts!
Catching on and catching up!
Okay, that was TOTALLY worth the logon this evening! I never thought of the part of being able to connect to it at will to assess it, perhaps when needed again. Thank you for that… because I think I was thinking of un-attachment as an end product. Going to copy this and keep it!
Actually, Di, non-attachment IS the 'end product' or the end state, and the reason for this is that the 'experience' or 'object' of the non-attachment no longer exists in the moul [mind + soul] but as a record in the Akashic Records or whatever else we may call it.
An analogy would be us writing a book about an experience of ours and then gifting it, without ties, to the library where it remains for our perusal if required. It should be understood that if there is any self-indulgence involved in the perusal there is attachment and the book does not belong in the library; would not have been accepted in fact! Attachment can be relative but non-attachment is not - it is complete!
