"Be still, and know that I am God."

This statement from the Bible is a profound one; view it according to your concept of ‘God’.
In dreams, when the dreamer is in a house, the house often symbolizes the dreamer’s body or persona. Likewise, let “Be still” be a room in your house and go there often.
Note: The occurrence of the above was a very clear example of a neoption. The time was about 5.30 a.m., I had awakened and was trying to return to sleep but was potentially being thwarted by mind chatter so I repeated my usual remedy for this which is, “I still this moul and put this body to rest”.
No sooner had the mind been stilled than Thought surfaced and I neopted the above as clear as day.

Have you read Behold the Spirit by Alan Watts?
Alan Watts(still Anglican at the time) states that God is something not thought of not intellectually conceived and getting to God is something 'realised' and not 'attained'. Dom
No, I haven't read Alan Watts' book [since I wrote the first part of The Milk Is White in 1996 I ceased reading any such books - curious, but is what happened!
Nevertheless, I agree with what he says.
